What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an age-old healing practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which thin Acupuncture needles are placed at specific points in the body where they can have healing effects.
Acupuncture is primarily used to relieve pain, but also has been used to treat other conditions such as improving emotional well-being and driving stress relief.

Frequently Asked Questions?

What shall I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes. Generally, you need to remove shoes and socks while lying on the bed.

If you are having facial acupuncture, it’s best if you come with little to no makeup.

What will I expect from a Facial Acupuncture treatment?

You will be asked to lie down on your back and I will gently tap tiny acupuncture needles into place along your face, neck, and hairline as needed. People have different sensations, sometimes a slight warm sensation, a tingle, or often it is so relaxing that some people sleep. The needles are left in place for 20 to 30 minutes depending on the skin requirements and what we are wanting to achieve. Cupping, jade roller, Gua Sha may also get incorporated into the treatment, depending on your needs. Afterwards, wake up feeling relaxed and refreshed. The overall treatment may take up to an hour.

What does Acupuncture feel like?

You should feel comfortable throughout an acupuncture treatment session and should not be in pain. If you do experience any discomfort, let me know so that I can make adjustments. You may feel warmth, tingling, or an electrical sensation running through the meridians. Many patients find acupuncture to be very relaxing and look forward to treatments.

Please remember to have eaten something within 2 hours of your appointment. Please remove your jewellery prior to your Acupuncture session.
